In industrial systems, the correct installation of hoses is of  great importance in terms of system efficiency and safety, as well as the correct selection of hoses. In particular  , the installation of elements exposed to high pressure and temperatures, such as stainless flex hoses, requires professionalism.

In this article,  we will examine the points that must be considered during flex hose assembly step by step.

  1. Start with Proper Hose Selection

Before installation, the first step is to select the right hose to match the system's operating pressure, temperature, and ambient conditions. The wrong choice can lead to system failures, no matter how well the assembly is carried out.

  1. Make an Accurate Length Calculation

Stainless flex hoses  have a certain limit of flexibility. Installation by stretching or compressing the hose too much will damage both the hose and the fittings. When determining the size of the hose installation:

  • Thermal expansion
  • Vibration movement
  • Factors such as moving equipment distances must be taken into account.
  1. Do Not Apply Torsion

Torsion hose = short life. Rotating the hose around its axis during assembly leads to damage to the internal structure and sealing problems over time.

Tip: When attaching the hose to the attachment point, rotate the fitting, not the hose, with the wrench.

  1. Use Proper Fastener

The fittings, flanges or threaded structures to be used at the connection points of the hose must be fully compatible with the hose. Using different external standards (BSP, NPT, METRIC, etc.) causes sealing problems.
